iphone 7 sim not supported

My name is Joseph Khoury, i bought an iphone 7 when i was in Seekonk from best buy and i made sure with the salesman to have a factory unlocked phone because i live in Lebanon so i paid 849.99$ for that. While my stay in Boston i tried my Lebanese sim card and it didn't work i had a message on the iphone "sim not supported". For that purpose i went for a second visit to best buy and spoke to the customer service to help me with that issue. The answer was that the phone i bought is 100% factory unlocked but the network is not supported in the US so it will definitely work once i come back to lebanon.

I trusted the answer of the customer service person but unfortunately once i arrived to my country the same issue persist.

For that i went to the network company in lebanon to see if the problem is from the sim card but the answer was that the phone is still locked.

Therefor i need from your side to send me the instructions to unlock my phone and to use it properly, it is not acceptable to feel betrayed by buying a phone with wrong settings which i made sure my request was clear " factory unlock"

Hi Dheresh I am also facing the same problem. Have called up T mobile many times, but no success. Apple care is also of no help either. I have read on bestbuy support, some people have used Verizon sim card for activation & after that that they were able to use Indian sim cards. But I don't know which card, as there are plenty of those on ebay. Pls let me know if u find some solution. Right now feeling cheated & frustrated

Ok my story here goes like this on August 14th 2017 I had purchased at Best Buy and iPhone 7 plus 128gb and I bought it factory unlocked the girl there told me it was also I connected it to Metro for like 2 months Maybe and I switched carriers I switch to Cricket Wireless and I got a phone from there free for switching but I didn't want to use that phone I wanted to use my iPhone so I called for me to switch phones and they said it was ready for me to use it on my iPhone so when I go to put my SIM card in my iPhone it says Sim not supported not only that I've called Metro PCS and told them why that happened and they said it was locked to there company because I wasn't with their phone service for more than 90 days and I told them that they have no reason to lock it because it's not from them because the phone is from Best Buy so when I called again they told me my iPhone was unlocked and it was never locked to their company so I put my SIM card in again and it tells me the same thing Sim not supported I honestly called so many times and they tell me so many different things I don't know if I go to Apple to T-Mobile to Metro I have no idea what to do help please thank you

Best Buy does NOT sell unlocked iPhones. The phones they sell lock to the first carrier used. That carrier are the only ones who can authorize unlocking it. There is nothing anyone here can do about it.

By the way, you may want to have your keyboard serviced as it appears the punctuation keys are not working, making it difficult to read your post.

Hi

If Best Buy misinformed you about the status of the iPhone, then I'm afraid that your issue is with Best Buy.

To use your iPhone with a different carrier, you would need to contact the carrier to which the iPhone is currently locked in order to arrange for it to be unlocked (Apple does not do this). Unlocking would also be subject to that carrier's policy:

Hey guys, I had the same problem.

I was able to get hold of the apple guys using their toll free number. They were able to help me out with this issue.

Just tell them that you contacted best buy and as well as ATT or which ever sim card you put ( if at all you did) and nothing was helping.

Then they asked me for the billing invoice and did some magic on their part to make things work. Finally my iphone is working. So dont loose hope.
