Q: Writing to NAS disconnects NAS in macOS Sierra
Hey folks, I'm asking for help with this pretty weird and annoying thing:
Since upgrading to macOS Sierra 2 of my 6 MacBook Pros loose connection to a network NAS when trying to open or save documents (e.g. Excel 365, Pages 6.0). No proper error message appears except this one (in German)
essentially stating that the server is being switched off. After that, I have to reconnect to the server. But the issue keeps coming back and is also active after booting in safe-mode. I once downgraded back to El Capitan which eliminated the problem. After a weeks or so I wanted to try Sierra again but as you see the issue is still active. Again, the issue only appears on 2 out of 6 MacBook Pros (all within the same local network), all of which have been updated at the same time from El Capitan to Sierra. Since the NAS serves the other 4 Macs well, and the 2 having issues under Sierra work well running El Capitan. So I suspect an Sierra/machine specific issue. Any help is very welcome!
The 2 struggling MacBook Pro models:
(1) 15-inch Retina (Late 2013), 2 GHz i7, 8 GB 1600 MHz
(2) 15-inch (Mid 2012), 2.6 GHz i7, 8 GB 1600 MHz
MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2012), macOS Sierra (10.12), 15-inch Retina (Late 2013)
