I understand your iPhone 7 is having multiple issues including battery and overheating problems. Thanks for using Apple Support Communities to post your question. If you have not done so already please perform a backup for your device. When the display does not respond, try forcing your iPhone to restart. This procedure simulates removing and reinstalling the battery.
How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable operating temperatures
If forcing the device does not resolve your issues, please restore it to factory settings using iTunes on your computer. You can set it up as a new device without restoring any data from the backup. After it is set up as new, test the battery life, call quality, display function and overall temperature while on a call to see if the issue has been resolved. If no problems re occur, it is quite possible that the previous data was causing the issue. You should then download your apps from your purchase history and use your iCloud Apple ID to re sync your data to your device.
Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings
Download your past purchases
These procedures should have you enjoying your new iPhone 7 and have it work as expected. Have a nice day.
