Can the T-mobile Iphone 7 plus be used with any GSM-compatible foreign SIM?

I ordered a T-mobile Iphone 7 plus with the specification "unlocked with a T-mobile SIM". Does this mean that it can work with any GSM compatible foreign SIM?

The sim-free version will work exactly the same way. The only difference is it won't have a sim card.

Here's the thing, if you need CDMA compatibility, then only the Verizon, and Sprint models have that.

AT&T and T-Mobile cannot be used with CDMA carriers.

Beyond that, all 4 iPhones currently being sold by Apple can be used with any GSM carrier sim.

You can search the forums and many people have done this now with the iPhone 7, and in the past with previous models.

I finally received my T-mobile iphone 7 plus: When I inserted my Italian SIM and switched on the phone for the first time, the phone told me that I had to activate Iphone through T-mobile. Then, after a few trials exchanging my Italian SIM and the T-mobile one, I don't know how, the Iphone started working regularly with my Italian SIM.

Happy end but be wary of the initial warnings!
