Q: can't open files,bin file goes to a cpgz file and so on

my name paul ****; iMac (21.5), late 2012, processor 2.7 ghz intel core i5, memory8 Gb 1600 MHz DDR3. version 10-19.5

I loaded photos's from my canera in to the photo's archive. The photo's that i have on the desk top and a lot of them in my files turned in to zip bin files.  Then when i tried to open the bin file it would go to a cpgz file. When i tried to open the cpgz file it would just multiplying and so on.

     I have tried everything in the Mac help area and some things that were on line.

     Also  some times when i wake up the pc i get a white window for a few seconds.
