Q: What does product replacement pending mean?

I recently sent my phone in for repair to apple,  because my LCD screen broke and was told that I will have to pay a 269 dollar fee but I was checking on my repair status and it says "replacement pending" what does this mean? i do have my one year insurance but will I have to pay for a new phone in total?

    replacement is pending the $269

Apple does not cover accidental damage with any warranty they offer, only manufacturer defects.

Apple does not offer insurance, so are you referring to insurance through your carrier or another 3rd party?  If so, you will likely want to cancel replacement with Apple and deal with your insurance company.  They likely won't replace the device or compensate you for the Apple service replacement since you did not file the claim with them.  Most 3rd party and carrier insurance programs require you to deal directly with them and not Apple for any claim.

If you meant AppleCare+, you do have two accidental damage claims for a reduced out of warranty fee of only  $29 for display repair or $99 for device replacement.  If you had AppleCare+ on the device though, Apple would know that from the serial number.

I did not know this, last time I brought an iPad in for service with Apple Care I was charged the full amount for a screen replacement, but you are correct.

    I'm going to call Apple.
