AppleTV including a USB Cable

Can anyone explain why the AppleTV even includes a Lightning to USB cable in the box? It's not a USBc cable just a regular USB connector, so it can't even be plugged into the AppleTV. I can't figure out why it's included when they could include a HDMI cable that would be useful if the cable is not to short.
