I understand that, after updating to iOS 10.0.2, the Mail app is quitting unexpectedly on your iPhone. In such a situation the steps outlined in the article linked below can help restore functionality to the Mail app.
If an app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open

I've gone through the steps you recommended. The last step says to contact the app developer. The developer is Apple.
I also looked at the setup to see if anything looked odd.
Next steps?
Ryq.

Apple TVThanks Sarah. This just happened with the latest OS upgrade. This link is for the hardware which is out of warranty. I'd expect that Apple would want to know about bugs/issues in the recent upgrade. Is there a better link to the IOS folks?
