Q: Turn Apple TV on with Siri

Is there a specific reason why Siri is not able to turn the Apple TV 4th Gen on?

Because TV needs to be on in order to receive and process voice commands. It can't do this while it's in sleep mode.

i mean from an iPhone, or mac. That should be obvious option for a smart home to include.

You could probably plug it into a switch that supports HomeKit. I have one that from iDevices that I have some decorative lights plugged into. Basically, it's a box that plugs into the outlet and then you plug your non-smart device into it.

Note: I haven't actually tried this. I've never had a reason to turn my ATV off.
