Q: MacOS Sierra - Siri can't make voice calls.

Hi guys,

Is Siri supposed to be able to make phone calls through the iPhone, from the Mac, in MacOS Sierra?

Cause I can make phone calls (not Facetime calls) just fine if I use the Facetime app on the Mac and click the phone number I want to call, or if I pick a number from my Contacts. But if I try to open Siri and do a voice command for "call X", it always tries to do it through Facetime. Meaning it tries to make a Facetime call instead of a regular voice call.

Is this a bug or a missing feature? Is there a fix or a workaround for it? I would love to be able to use Siri on my Mac just like I do on the iPhone.

I observe the same behavior, so I think it's a missing feature.

And the page (below) that discusses Siri on the Mac shows a "FaceTime" command, but not a "Call" command. (As I say, I used the "Call" command and observed the same behavior you did.)

Indeed, I noticed that too. Although I didn't check out that article. Just asked Siri what can it (she?) do for me.

So yeah, I guess missing feature is what it is.

Is there any way to suggest this feature to be added to the next update of macOS? I think it would be super cool to have this functionality within Sierra.

I just noticed the same issue.
Why does the new Siri on MacOS Sierra have not the same capabilities of its twin on iOs?

This is definitely something Apple should work on
