Q: How to prevent IOS 10 Update Message

For the past few days each time I turn on my iPhone I get a message urging me to update to version 10.  How can I stop this message?  I will do so after a while and any wrinkles have been ironed out.

Thank you

iPad Mini, iOS 9.3.5

Easiest thing to do is ignore the notification.

iOS will automatically check for updates when there is a connection to the internet. It will automatically download the new version without asking you first under these conditions: you're connected to the internet over WiFi, there's sufficient free space and your phone is connected to power source. When download completes, you will be nagged with a message to install the package. It will not go away until you delete the fully downloaded iOS package (settings - storage and icloud - manage storage).

If you delete the fully downloaded iOS package, it will automatically download it again when the above 3 conditions are met. Is it clear so far? If you want to stop you phone from checking iOS updates, block access to mesu.apple.com on your WiFi router. It will never be able to check for iOS updates. Of course the block is effective only when you access the web thru the WiFi router that has the block in place.

Thank you very much for the explanation.  It seems like the cure is worse than the disease.  Think I will go ahead and upgrade.

    Thanks again.
