Q: Kernel_task high memory Usage

I have an 09 Mac pro , Kernel_task is slowing my computer with high memory usage reaching 3.6 GB. although I have 56  GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC memory

Mac Pro, iOS 10.0.2, early 09 on OS X Yosemite 10.10

    How long since the Mac was rebooted?

    Are you having problems?

    Is any SWAP be ing used (that would be listed in Memory tab of Activity Monitor?

    The latest versions of macOS try to use all memory available. since if not used the memory serves no purpose
