Q: Would it do any harm to delete Photos? I hate it - not even close to aperture!!

Would it do any harm to delete Photos? I hate it - not even close to aperture!!

Yes it would since it is part of the OS and you can not delete it - you can ignore it and you can use Aperture 3.6 as long as it continues working (which will stop someday) and you can use any photo software you want

 

and Photos is no consumer program not a professional program like Aperture but it is very good and much better than iPhoto - many power Aperture (but certainly  not all) have found it an acceptable organizer
