Where are Photos edits with referenced library?

I am trying a referenced library with Photos and I'm wondering what happens to edits I might make in Photos (as opposed, say, to those I might make in Lightroom on the same images)? Are the Photos edits kept in the Photos db and only visible in Photos or if I export an edited copy?

Are there other potential problems when using the same source images with Photos and another editing app such as Lightroom?

Thanks for any advice--

1 - Referenced libraries in Photos are strongly not recommended - Disadvantages of a Referenced Library in Photos

2 - The edits are stored in the PHotos database and applied as you view or export the photos

3 - Likewise for LightRoom - you can not use Photos and LR on the same photos - each needs it s own copy in its own library - nothing you do in Photos will show in LR and nothing you do in LR will show in Photos

4 - LR is NOT an editing [program - it is a Photo management program doing exaclly what Photos does in a totally different way - there is no way to share the same photos between them except as separate copies
