Q: iOS 10 cannot connect to my 2008 Mac Pro using OS 10.7.5, the last software I can use. So no iTune, any other ways to transfer pages files to desktop?

iOS 10.0.2 on my iPad failed to connect to iTunes on my 2008 Mac Pro using OS 10.7.5, the last software I can use.

Error message:

   iTunes could not connect to the iPad “Lillian's iPad” because an invalid response was received from the device

 

So, without iTunes, are there any other ways to transfer Pages files to desktop?

    I understand that, after updating to iOS 10.0.2, your iPad no longer successfully connects to your Mac. This is because iOS 10 requires iTunes 12.5.1, which requires Mac OS X 10.9.5 or later to be installed. One option here would be to upgrade to Mac OS X El Capitan, or use iCloud to access your documents.

    Thank for your input, but this is not the answer I'm looking for.  iOS 9 version worked just fine, and iOS 10 has no warning telling us it will not support OS 10.7.5 - I could have stayed with iOS 9 not to upgrade to 10!

     

    I have 2TB of storage now, not sure if I want to buy a new Mac Pro that only comes with 1TB of storage.

     

    My 2008 Mac Pro cannot be upgraded to any higher OS X than 10.7.5.   This means Apple abandons whoever is using the OS X Lion, won't even consider a work around in newer iOS 10 updates.  How sad!
