Q: contact searching blanks out in iPhone

while searching a contact in phone app under contact tab, the search says no results for all the contacts even though they are in the contact list.

this is happening after the recent update 10.0.2

iPhone 5, iOS 9.3.3

Hello dssherorey,

It sounds like you using the contacts search bar to search for some contacts but they aren't showing. I would start by quitting the Contacts and the Settings apps:

Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Then restart your phone and test out the Contacts app again.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If that works then great! If not though I need to know if you sync your contacts with any online services such as iCloud or Gmail. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities, let us know how that goes!
