I am having Problems restarting Yosemite, after power failure during new backup, and now the HD is also locked.

I did try the holding of "command-r" and "option" to see if the problem can be fixed or trying any boot-up from another startup disk, my older backup, USB based startup - but after a long slow process it simply shuts-off.

There is software on my HD which I do not want to loose by simply reformatting the computer, because I am now in a different country, away from my home, which represents another Apple Store problem, for reinstalling on the www my Yosemite OS.

MacBook, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

    Hey AmnonMikeCohen,

Thanks for being a part of Apple Support Communities.

I understand your Mac isn't booting properly after the power went out.  Let's start off with resetting the SMC and NVRAM on your Mac, and see if it can boot from there:

Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac

How to Reset NVRAM on your Mac

    Cheers.

Thanks Jeremy, but these were done as well, and got me further away from the solution.

In my hope to restart and not reformat the Macintosh HD, so not to loose the original Adobe software on my MacBook, I have been facing the problem that the HD is locked for some reason, so I need to know how to unlock it, and this advice is not clear when I searched for it.   Trying to use my last BackUp also does not work as the application can not see the one I am after, and find another one I also have on the special external HD where I keep Time Machine backups.    I am also trying to startup from a USB system, and can not actually BootUp to see the Machintosh HD on my Internal Drive, which is OK according to Disk Utility.  Disk Utility can not FIX disk with "File System exit code 8"

I stay hoping I can get a system/finder which will let me see the HD as it was prior to a simple BackUp which was stopped by the unexpected power loss during the Time Machine process.

Thank you Sterling r, but I had to concede to the problem that an Apple Computer is not able to recover from an accidental power failure during a routine BackUp and I think I did loose the original software and documents which I had on my MacBook, but in few days I will know the damage, and if Time Machine can bring me back to one of the last backups I had for my better of the 3 MacBooks I employ.  I was only able to select an older OS 10.7.5 as it did not see my OS 10.10.5 on the same External Drive.

The option of bringing it for repair is not practical, as I may be able to recover, in this very slow way, most if not all the documents.  As to the software, I hope I shall be able to use my Adobe-CS5 as I was able to before this sad event.
