supposedly the command key is a shortcut for Siri in Sierra. Doesn't work. Neither does iWatch pair with iMac and "log on". Waiting for update corrections. Either that or throw these functions in with the Maps app....worthless.

i have macbook pro with sierra and the "command and spacebar hold" shortcut does not open siri no matter how long i hold the keys. the spotlight pulls up as it should but siri never kicks in. Any help please?
hey,,,,i just found in siri preferences that the keyboard shortcut default on my MacBook pro is "option+spacebar"...so i'm good now..and i think it's maybe more convenient to not have the spotlight window open first anyway.
I have the same problem. I have tried tapping and holding the Command+Spacebar keys simultaneously, individually, and all combinations. No luck: Either the Spotlight search bar appears or a previously viewed file shows up in QuickLook. I also tried changing the keyboard launch options in the Siri System Preferences to Option+Spacebar, Function+Spacebar, even a custom command. None of these work.
Normally, I use an Apple external keyboard with a 2014 Apple MacBook Pro (with the clamshell lid closed). I also tested this with the Mac's own keyboard. No luck.
Thoughts? Anyone? Bueller?
Mollyjess provides the solution to my other Siri problem--changing the keyboard shortcut for Siri to "off" did not take effect immediately. I had to disable, and then enable Siri to get the change to work.
I have the same problem as well. Holding down Command + Space or Option + Space will not launch Siri. I had to change the keyboard shortcut to just pressing fn + space. Somehow, MacOS doesn't register holding down buttons. You need a combination that doesn't require you to hold down any button.

I had this problem too. Unchecking and then checking the "Enable Siri" tick box in System Preferences/Siri worked for me.
