iBooks Dictionary & Highlight broken 10.0.2

[iPad Air 2 64GB 1.5 GHz; iphone 6 (don't really use for books)]

I updated the software to 10.0.2. The highlighting (inc. notes) and dictionary functions no longer work.

Previously read books still retain the highlights. I can extend those highlights. I just can't tap and select text for new highlighting. Similarly, I'm unable to tap and search the dictionary/wikipedia/internet.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there some random setting I need to enable (everything is switched on in settings for ibooks).

This is a key feature that was dispositive in my decision to purchase iPads.

Hello there!

It sounds like something is preventing the Lookup, Search, and Highlight functions from working correctly. First I would suggest quitting the iBooks and the Settings apps:

Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Then restart the iPad and try again.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

I Also have this problem...how do you "force" an app to close on an iPad?
