Emate 300 - connecting with a windows XP pc?

Just got my hands onto a Apple emate 300. It just is great for textediting - the keyboard is sufficient, battery life is awesome, and it feels and looks rock-solid!
Only one thing to wish for... I need my files to be transferable to my main desktop computer, which runs on windows XP.

What are the options? All I got with the emate is an ethernet adapter ... and of course infrared is builtin.

I just got one myself, after years of running a 2100.

Start by reading the Newton FAQ:

But to answer your question, the best way, in my opinion, to move text documents would be to install Mail V on your eMate and simply email the Notes or NewtonWorks documents to yourself: you can even email your drawings and sketches as GIFs! Newton Connection Utilities is another option but much more flaky. With the ethernet card, you're set for email.

Good luck, and remember the NewtonTalk list: it's a helpful community (but come having read the FAQ, which is very well-written)
