How to add rows automatically with pasted data in Numbers

How do you add rows automatically with pasted data (like 200 rows). it stops at 22, I can add the rows first, but when it is 200+ it seems odd to manually add 200 rows manually. And the if there are any blank rows it fills in the extra rows with duplicated data?

Any Help is appreciated

Terry

my experience is that if you paste data that exceeds the dimensions of the table, Numbers will automatically add the columns as needed.

Perhaps you could share specifics about your data.

Take note:

1) the column delimiter is the tab

2) the row delimiter is carriage return (the character you get by typing the key "RETURN")

if you data is comma separated, I recommend using your favorite text editor and performing a search/replace, then copy and paste the data into a table

What happens if you paste the data into a message in this thread? Do you get more than 22 rows? Does anything visible happen between the 22nd and 23rd row of data?

If the data is sufficiently anonymous (eg. all numbers, no names) Please paste it here so that we can test what happens when we try to paste it into a table.

Barry
