Disable Bookmarks/SharedLinks/ReadingList Slide Out?

Anytime the mouse comes close to the left hand border, the bookmarks/shared links/reading list slide out opens. I never use this. Is there any way to disable this behavior?

Cmd+Shift+L makes it appear all the time, but I want to hide that pane and have it not pop out at all. Default behavior is to auto-hide.
