Unlocking a Softbank Iphone 5s

I need a way to unlock a Softbank iPhone. Yes I've contacted the crappy carrier and they are of no help because I am no longer in Japan. I've sent various emails and called the "customer service" and they are useless. Any USEFUL information is appreciated.

If Softbank won't unlock it for you then there is nothing you an do.

Only the carrier that the phone is locked to is authorized to unlock it.

I was under the impression that carrier from Japan don't unlock phones.

It seems by looking at the support document about wireless carriers and features, that they have started. However, that could also be just with newer devices, and there seems to be a charge associated with it. Wireless carrier support features for iPhone in Asia-Pacific - Apple Support

I don't know what you consider "useful" information? But if a carrier refuses to unlock a device, then you cannot get it unlocked. There really is nothing more for anyone to say. Anything you, or anyone else, can do other than an official carrier authorized unlock is a hack, which you would pursue at your own risk.
