Having trouble installing Plug-ins

I just bought a new MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015. Processor: 2,9 GHz Intel Core i5. Memory: 16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3). I used a couple of VST plug-ins on my old computer (an early 2011 MacBook Pro running Yosemite) and they installed and worked perfectly. But when I try to install them on my new computer it says "installation failed because there was no software to install". I tired installing them on both El Captain and Sierra. How can I solve this?
