2 Factor Authentification on Apple TV

I have an Apple TV that is not accepting the 2 factor authebtification. This not the current Apple TV model, but everything else works perfectly on it. I have another Apple TV (same model) that has not had the same problem.


Here's what it's doing. When I try to open the movies app to access my purchased movies or to rent a movie, it asks for my login and password. After putting those in, it asks for the verification code, which pops up on my iPhone. When I put the code in it immediately loops back and asks me for my ID and password. I've put it in 5 times in a row and it just keeps looping.


I Have tried restarting the device on several occasions.


LIke I said, my other Apple TV is working fine and all my other devices are working with the 2 factor authentication.


ANy advice would be appreciated!

On Apple TV

•Go to Settings > iTunes Store > Sign in

•If already Signed In then Sign Out

•Enter AppleID and submit

•Enter password - DO NOT SUBMIT

•Get a Verification Code from the iOS device

•Settings > iCloud> (click email address or name at the top) > Password and Security > Get Verification code

•Enter this code at the end of the password with no spaces after the password or within the code

•Submit

Hello,


I had this problem too. Do you have an iPhone or iPad where you can get your two-step verification code before entering your password? The problem is by the time you enter the password, the code is then sent.

You need to enter your Apple ID and hit submit. Then enter your password but DON'T hit submit.


At this stage, go to your iPhone or iPad settings and go to iCloud. Click on iCloud at the top of the screen (your profile picture may be there too). Then click on "Password & Security" and "Get Verification Code". This will then generate a code for you to use on any devices you're trying to log in on.


Now back to your Apple TV and the password screen. Where you entered your password, immediately after it type in your verification code.


e.g. If your password is "Appleseed" and your verification code is "1234", your password box would have in it "Appleseed1234". So you type in the verification code in the password field immediately after your password with no spaces.


Then when you hit Submit, it should log you in with no problems.
