DesktopsThat is correct, you cannot Upgrade to it unless you are already running 10.11.5 or later, according to this article. They suggest you need to "Buy" it (cost, $0) and provide the provide a link to do so. Check the other requirements while you have the article open (and note that their memory estimates are for it to RUN, not for it to run WELL. It needs MORE than 4GB of RAM to run well.)

DesktopsSo sorry, i misunderstood.
You could manually download and apply the 10.8.5 combo update instead, and hope that everything would straighten up and fly right after that:
Download OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.5 (Combo)
