Q: How to fetch new data manually?

My iPad Pro 9.7 is running iOS 10.0.2.

Instead of having my iPad Pro fetch data on a schedule, I want to fetch new data in Notes, Mail, and Contacts manually so I can go from desktop to iPad to work on a task without waiting up to 15 minutes for the device to fetch the latest changes.  Example: I went to Settings/Mail/iCloud/Accounts and set the "Fetch New Data" frequency to "Manually."

The problem is that even after setting the Notes preferences to manually fetch data, I can't find a way for the iPad manually fetch the changes I just made in Notes on my Touch.

Does anyone know how to fetch the data instantly instead of waiting up to 15 minutes (the minimum auto fetch option) for the device to fetch the data?

I believe when you open the Mail app it will fetch the data

Well, that makes sense. I'll try it, and give you points if you were right!

Thanks,  jlangaiak, but it didn't work. I also tried fetching every 15 minutes with zero results. I just can't get anything from iCloud--assuming everything I've set to go to iCloud makes it there. I just discovered that the same thing goes for the iPod Touch 5th Gen. It's just so frustrating that iCloud would be a great alternative to emailing stuff to myself, but I just can't figure out how to get anything out of it.

BTW, I've got 0.6 GB of data for Mail, Notes, and some other apps in iCloud. No idea what that consists of, though.

Any suggestions would be grand--even if it's just a link to a good article or reference site that would help me get this stupid thing going.

    Thanks!

I just visited icloud.com, and everything I want to share between devices is there in my icloud drive, so the problem is accessing it. I just can't get it to work. Sorry to get all whiny about it, but why is it so mysterious?

Edited to add: I've also followed directions for setting up iCloud on Apple's support pages, with no success.
