Q: Sierra - Yahoo mail persistently off-line

Since installing Sierra, Yahoo mail is persistently off line, any suggestions?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Yahoo mail twice but still not working.

iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), macOS Sierra (10.12), Yahoo web mail works well

What does Mail > Window > Connection Doctor have to say?

'Trying to log into this IMAP account failed. Verify that the username and password are correct'.

I'd delete that account and set it up again.

I have done that twice & no success. On the BT Yahoo web site, mail is working well, it's just Apple Mail that isn't.

Before deleting and recreating (again - somewhat differently), how about running Connection Doctor and this time checking the Log Connection Activity checkbox, Check again, then Show logs. Post the results (you may need to remove some personal info).

I am going round in circles. BT Yahoo works fine from Safari so the hub is ok as is connection to the internet. BUT Mail will not work using the BT Yahoo account for mail.

Have tried Diagnostics Doctor but no help and I cannot access the 'Diagnostics' button within the Doctor.

I have again removed the BT Yahoo mail account, reinstalled it and restarted the Mac all without success.

I should add, my iPad & iPhone work with Apple Mail without problem. It is just the Mac and seems to have happened only since upgrading to Sierra when folders & documents were moved to the iCloud, although I cannot see any reason why it should be related to this matter.

No, we don't need network diagnostics, just check Log Connection Activity, click Check Again, Uncheck Log Connection Activity, then click Show Logs.

There are three TXT documents there. The first is enormous, the second and third less content.

The content of the second is as below, I hope this is what you are after:-

Well, it seems to login and logout without a problem

I think your next stop should be BT Support.
