iPod Photo error 1439

Bought Ipod Photo with hands. When you connect to Itunes defined as Ipod, and even had the opportunity to throw off the music, but Itunes passed in an endless sync (finishing pass the track again and again began to pass). Appeared type label can not be read or copy the information on the Ipod.

Then, when you connect Itunes, he proposed to restore the Ipod, then an error 1439 appears.

When the "book" and Apple's website. Ipod did not fall, it has not been filled with water.

According to the former owner he changed the hard drive.

What are the ways out of this situation? Formatting to FAT32? No other specific programs or the need to change the firmware?

P.S tried to format the program Ease Us Partion Master and then restore.

I would be grateful for your help.

If you use Windows (not a Mac), and you reformat it directly (outside of iTunes), the correct disk format is FAT32. After completely erasing an iPod's hard drive, you must do a Restore in iTunes to reinstall its onboard software.

If doing a Restore normally does not work, try putting the iPod into Disk Mode

How to put your iPod into disk mode - Apple Support

Before connecting it to your computer, you may want to shut down (power off) the computer, and disconnect all USB devices. You can leave standard keyboard/mouse connected, if used. If your computer is a laptop, connect its power adapter, so that it's not running on battery power. Start up computer, run iTunes, and connect iPod (in Disk Mode) to a direct USB port, by itself.

iTunes should prompt you to do a Restore. This erases iPod, reinstalls its software, and set it to default settings. See if iTunes is able to complete the Restore without the error.

If you still get that error, try a different USB docking cable, if you have one. Also, if you have access to another computer with iTunes installed, try doing the Restore using iTunes on that computer.

NOTE: An iPod photo is a 4th gen iPod. When you connect it to a computer using USB, the Restore process may ask you to connect it to an Apple USB (or FireWire) power adapter as the last step. If you do not have an Apple power adapter, you may be not be able to proceed passed this step.

I'm not an expert on the drive stats... There are others here who are though, so you may get a reply from one of them.

Unfortunately, the formatting does not work (you need to do a quick or full?).

Do a full format, with FAT32 as the selected disk format. However, doing a direct format using Windows is normally not necessary. What happens if you put it into Disk Mode, and connect it to computer running iTunes. Are you able to do a Restore? What happens when you try?

And if I install custom firmware that help?

I don't know about "custom firmware." If there's no hardware issue (like a faulty hard drive), the iPod should work with the standard onboard software that is install by doing a Restore.
