Try going to System Preferences/Security & Privacy/Privacy, unlock the padlock, and see if there is a box you can uncheck which stops the requests. Safari is probably the logical choice.

Oct 7, 2016 9:56 AM in response to jeffreylazarby jeffreylazar,I am now getting a sense that it is "advertising sites" attached to some links I have legitimately clicked on. The problem is when I go to Safari and empty my cache folder & clear my history, some of these sites reappear in the cache folder and I can't get rid of them. This is annoying and I wish I knew how to scrub them permanently.

Try running this program in your normal account , then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.
