Q: Bluetooth connection problem iPhone - Nissan audio system after iOS10 upgrade

After iOS10.0.2 upgrade from iOS9 on iPhone SE, I got a problem regards receiving calls throw Nissan Car audio.

I can make a call without any problem. Bluetooth connection is stable. I can download address book e.t.c. But I can’t receive a call. I see the incoming call on Car Audio display. After pressing “answer” button on Car Audio system, audio stream between iPhone and Car Audio fails.

But cellular connection remains active. I need to rotate audio output on iPhone screen from car  to iPhone and back to Car. After that,  I can  continue my Call via Car audio.

Thanks in advance

iPhone SE, iOS 10.0.2

    Hello StasV,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I know having an issue with calls on your iPhone when in your car is not what you expect. The good news is the following steps will be helpful in resolving your issue of phone calls while using bluetooth in your car. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Call Audio Routing and set that to Bluetooth Headset and test your issue again.

Thanks for replying and that additional info, that really helps. If you have tried all the steps in those 2 articles on this issue, your next step would be to contact Nissan about any possible updates for the car stereo software/firmware. If there are updates installed, try the steps mentioned earlier again, and if your issue is still not resolved, contact AppleCare support as they have more tools and resources for your situation.

HI, i have the same issue since the update in my 2014 Honda CRV. I have discovered however, that if i press the answer button on the steering wheel a second time then the call reconnects to the car's Bluetooth audio system. This is not ideal i know, but it's better than having to stop the car to answer calls. I have researched this issue and, apparently, it has happened before on earlier operating systems (ios 6 I think) and was fixed when update was released. Hopefully , an update will cure the problem this time too but in the mean time, if you have an answer button on your steering wheel try hitting it twice (or 3 times if necessary) with a slight pause between first answering and hitting it a second time to see if that reconnects the call to tour audio system as it did mine.....Good luck!
