Hi, i picked up a different used battery, and im still getting problems. The battery seems to hold a full charge, as it has all 4 lights lit up when its charged. It took about 3 hours to charge it up fully, and when i went to unplug it...it dies about a second afterwards, is this the same problem, a bad battery? If so, im just going to buy a brand new battery, i had gotten the person i bought the used one from before to replace the older one. Thanks in advance!

If it won't run at all from any battery, it could be the logic board at fault.

Do you live some place close to an Apple Store where they could test it with a new battery? I'd hesitate to recommend buying a totally new battery if it won't run from one that appears to have taken a charge, but used batteries are bad news. There's just no way to tell if it's the battery, the adapter, or the computer at fault with the battery being an unknown in the equation.

I figured out what was wrong, it wasnt the battery itself, it was the case. Im missing screws in the battery compartment somehow, that hold down the springs in there. Thus, its not making contact when i lift it up from the desk. The battery works just fine tho, on the desk it ran 3 hours...so im thinking it to be a newer battery, maybe for an iBook g4 because of the serial number. I was wondering if i could take the iBook into the apple store and get the screws from a genius maybe? Even if they charged me or whatever. Thanks for all your help!
