iPhone 3gs battery life

I have had my iPhone 3gs now for 3 months, suddenly I am starting to know that the battery life on the iPhone 3gs is not good at all. How do I fix the battery life on the iPhone 3gs. I used to charge the iPhone 3gs one time per day but now I am charging the phone up to two times per day maybe three times per day as well. Is the battery charging considered normal or am I causing damage to the phone. I am open to any suggestions that fellow members of the Apple communities might have for me in regards to the iPhone 3gs. I really would like to fix this phone if I can. Thanks

The iPhone 3gs was discontinued over 4 years ago. I don't believe it's even possible to get a battery replacement for it from Apple any more. I'm not surprised your battery doesn't last very long.

Honestly, I'd just recycle it and buy something new. Or at least newer. The resale value of a 3gs is less than the price of even a cheap 3rd party battery at this point.

Thank you so much Kilted Tim for your response to my question. I am planning on going to recycle the phone sometime in January next year. I can't afford the newer iPhones because they are too expensive. Hopefully, I will try the iPhone again in a couple of years. Thanks

At least in the United States, the 3GS model is mentioned in a service price list.

Only you can decide whether it is worth replacing the battery. The iPhone would of course still be perfectly usable for calls, text messages and many other things. However, a number of applications do already (or may soon) require a newer iOS version, not supported for the 3GS.

An authorised Apple service provider may or may not have other possibilities/prices.

Regarding third-party sources/providers, remember that the quality of the battery is important for safety reasons.

Thank you Jan for replying to my question, unfortunately I am not going to replace the battery. I just wont use the phone anymore after January of next year. Don't know how I am going to transfer all my pictures and music on my phone while my computer at home is not work. I thought that the iPhone 3gs would have perfect battery life but now I know that the battery life on the iPhone 3gs is not that great. I don't want to replace the battery, because whichever battery I get probably will not fit in the phone.
