PhotoScape X 'damaged'

I tried downloading this app several times from the Apple Store (free version). When I tried to open the program though, a message said that the app is 'damaged'. I tried to re-install but got the same message. Can't figure how to uninstall (though it doesn't seem to have installed at all. I can see the Icon in Finder and the app is listed in the 'Purchased' list though yet to be 'installed').

Any idea on how to fix this? Thanks.

I really did not do anything special. On Oct. 12, after reading that article you referred to, I decided to see if I can clear out the 'damaged' app. But, before I did, I decided to click on the 'Install' button again (remember, the program is still in my purchased list waiting to be installed. It just won't install before). This time, the program installed without any problem. I couldn't believe it but, it installed, and, I am able to use it even. Sorry, couldn't be of more help.

Sorry. I just thought of something: At around the same time, I started noticing other technical issues with this computer - e.g. internal speaker sporadically functioned and then lost function. Computer cannot do recovery, unable to update and install, including this one we are discussing....I eventually brought the computer back to Apple. The tech told me that they replaced one of the boards (not sure if it was the logic board). I only re-installed the program yesterday. This time, it installed without any problem. So, I think what happened was part of that damaged 'board', which Apple replaced.
