Q: PhotoScape X 'damaged'

I tried downloading this app several times from the Apple Store (free version). When I tried to open the program though, a message said that the app is 'damaged'. I tried to re-install but got the same message. Can't figure how to uninstall (though it doesn't seem to have installed at all. I can see the Icon in Finder and the app is listed in the 'Purchased' list though yet to be 'installed').

Any idea on how to fix this? Thanks.

1 - this does not involve the Photos forMac application where you posted - in fact as far as I can see it does not interface with Photos for Mac in any way

2 - I downloaded and installed it for the app store and it works just fine - for support contact the author - http://x.photoscape.org/mac/

Boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and try downloading and installing from there.

Thanks. Not sure how to boot in safe mode. New to Mac. My inclination is just to look at another app.

This article was posted yesterday on OSXDaily website:  Clear Mac App Store Temp Cache to Fix Some Download Issues.

Maybe it's tips will help your situation if it's not already fixed.

Hi 'Old Toad", looks like it's been fixed! I just 'installed' and the previous download loaded without problem this time. Thanks for your help and encouragement.

What did you do to fix it?  Others with a similar problem would like to know what exactly you did?

I really did not do anything special. On Oct. 12, after reading that article you referred to, I decided to see if I can clear out the 'damaged' app. But, before I did, I decided to click on the 'Install' button again (remember, the program is still in my purchased list waiting to be installed. It just won't install before). This time, the program installed without any problem. I couldn't believe it but, it installed, and, I am able to use it even. Sorry, couldn't be of more help.

Sorry. I just thought of something:  At around the same time, I started noticing other technical issues with this computer - e.g. internal speaker sporadically functioned and then lost function. Computer cannot do recovery, unable to update and install, including this one we are discussing....I eventually brought the computer back to Apple. The tech told me that they replaced one of the boards (not sure if it was the logic board).  I only re-installed the program yesterday. This time, it installed without any problem. So, I think what happened was part of that damaged 'board', which Apple replaced.
