Pre-order an item

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

 

1. Open the iTunes Store app.
2. Find the item that you want to pre-order.
3. Tap the orange price button.
   
   
    
4. Tap Pre-order [Album or Movie].
5. When prompted to confirm your order, tap Pre-Order.
   
   

 

Download a pre-order

When your pre-ordered item releases, your order completes and the payment method that you have on file in the iTunes Store is billed. You'll receive an email letting you know that your pre-order is ready to download. Click or tap the link in the email to download your item.

If you have Automatic Downloads turned on, the item automatically appears in the Purchased section of your account.

If you don't see a pre-order that you expect to see, check for available downloads in iTunes on a Mac or PC:

1. Open iTunes.
2. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen or at the top of the iTunes window, choose Account > Check For Available Downloads.
   If you’re using Windows and can’t see the menu bar, learn how to turn it on.

 

View, cancel, or see the expected release dates for your pending pre-orders

You can manage your pre-orders in iTunes on a Mac or PC, but not on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Click to open iTunes and sign in to your Account Information page, or use these steps:

1. Open iTunes.
2. If you’re not signed in, sign in with your Apple ID.
3. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen or at the top of the iTunes window, choose Account > View My Account.
   
   
   If you’re using Windows and can’t see the menu bar, learn how to turn it on.
4. Enter your password, then press the Return or Enter key on your keyboard, or click View Account.

On the Account Information page:

1. Scroll to Settings, then click Manage Pre-Orders.
   
   
2. On the Manage Pre-Orders screen, you can view information about your pre-orders.
   To cancel a pre-order, click the Cancel button to the right of the item. When asked to confirm that you want to cancel, click OK.
   
   

Get help

If a billing issue stops your purchase from completing when your pre-order releases, you'll get an email letting you know that the item is available, but you need to update your billing information before you can download it.

Click the link in the email to check your billing information and complete your purchase.
