Q: photos v1.5 cant sort

Hi

I have just upgraded from os 10.6 to 10.11 and now I cant sort my photos. All photos are sorted by oldest at the top and this is not what I want. There is no choice in the View--sort menu. The only folder that gives me a choice is the 'iphoto events' folder

 

Any help appreciated

Create your own "All Photos" album as a smart album: 

  • File > New Smart Album.
  • Then use a rule, that will be true for all photos in your library:
    Screen Shot 2016-10-08 at 16.49.53 GMT.png
    Then ctrl-click the album and click "Sort > Newest first"

    Of course Photos 1.5 can sort just fine

     

    The Photos view (years/collections/moments) is always sorted by date with the newest at the bottom

     

    The All Photos view is always sorted by the date the photos were added to Photos

     

    User albums can be sorted by date ascending or descending or by title

     

    If you want different options tell Apple - http://www.apple.com/feedback/

     

    and to get any new options you will have to stay up to date - the current software with current bug fixes and features is Photos 2.0 and OS 10.12
