I have the same problem.  I have tried going in to settings and everything looks like my Mac will automatically go to my network, but it never does.  I know this is not a networking problem since my other devices have no trouble with this connection.  This is most likely a software issue and I am wondering when they plan to debug it.

Same problem here in the Netherlands. All Apple devices ( TV, Iphone 4 and 6 as weel as 2 x Ipad ) are connected constantly without problem. Problem is with Imac after upgrade to Sierra. Mostly after 20 minutes when screensaver is activated I loose my wifi connection and have to activate again and again and again. Maybe must deactivate the screensaver as long as no debug by apple.

I have a similar issue with my iMac.  After upgrading from El Capitan to Sierra, I am having network issues.

When it is in sleep mode the network icon on the top right corner says it have a full strength network signal.  When I log into the iMac that network icon acts like it is searching for a network.  If I try to access my home network I get the error no network found.  Now if I wait a minute or two before trying to access my home network, the network icon still shows it is searching but it is actually connected.  I can open Safari and search the web or get mail, etc.  The network icon doesn't really show the actual state the network is in.
