Q: Mountable File Systems Error

Whenever I try to mount a disk image, it brings up an error message that says "no mountable file systems." What makes this even more bizarre is that when I try to mount any disk image on my girlfriend's laptop- we both have Macbook Airs, but they are completely disparate computers- it brings up the exact same message! I don't understand how that could happen.

Unfortunately, I do not have the lexar.kext file on my computer, and when i change the format of the disk image to dvd/cd master, the operation times out when I try to mount it.

Sorry, I don't have a specific solution for you to try.

I just did an Internet search on: no mountable file systems dmg mac ... and came up with dozens of articles to choose from. You may want to try the same. For example, I found the following Mac Data Recovery article helpful in both explaining the reasons and some solutions to try.

Maybe someone else in this discussions area, that has experienced the same issue, can chime in with some potential solutions as well.
