ios 10 update messed up iMessages on Mac

I updated to ios 10 on my phone yesterday and now my imessages aren't going to my Mac, and any message I send from my Mac's iMessages says it's my email not phone number.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Sign out of Messages on your device and then back in again.
