Upgraded from Yosemite to Sierra and a pop up appears after every computer restart. The pop up message reads, "To use the java command-line tool you need to install a JDK".

You have to install Apple's legacy Java 6 as you have installed software that is improperly coded such that it will only work with that. the two I know of are Adobe creative suite and some facebook video chat software.

if it is actually correctly coded, you may be able to install a current JDK from Oracle's website. The JRE on Java.com will not work.
