I tried this however this only powered the watch on and off.

The screen curtain is still on. I have read the only way to turn this off is with the phone

when paired.  I bought it new.

    Hi

If your Apple Watch is not paired according to your iPhone, but your watch has not yet been erased, to turn off both VoiceOver and Screen Curtain, try following one of these steps:

    • Or use Siri:
      • Use Hey Siri or press and hold the Digital Crown (round button) until you feel a tap on your wrist from your watch.
      • Then say: “Turn off VoiceOver.”

    • Or, if the Accessibility Shortcut has been enabled and configured for VoiceOver, you can disable the feature on your watch:
      • On your watch: try quickly pressing the Digital Crown three times.

If you are unable to turn off VoiceOver via the previous steps, then follow this process:

    • Place your watch on the charger, with power connected.
    • Press and hold the Side button for around 3-4 seconds.
    • Although Screen Curtain is preventing you from seeing it, the active screen is now this:

    • Press firmly on the screen in the area where the Power Off slider is located, then lift your finger off.
    • The active (but still hidden) screen is now this:

    screen-curtain-reset-2.jpg

    • Tap once in the area where "Erase all content and settings" is located to select that option, then double-tap twice on the screen to select it.
    • Your watch will now be erased, following which you can pair it with your iPhone again (choose to Restore from Backup if offered the option):

As this was helpful in erasing all content,

I am still experiencing difficulty pairing the

watch to the phone. Since Siri keeps saying the

screen curtain is on and the phone can not pair.

    Thank you for your help!
