Q: web videos won't play on latest Safari

Howdy Folks!

I'm having a problem with Safari.  It won't play web videos.  Whenever there is a web video, a blank white block is present.  When I go to Firefox, I can play the video with no problem there.  I tried several times to uninstall and install Adobe Flash Player.  Went to Preferences and checked all the settings there and STILL no web video can be played.   Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

    1. Safari > Preferences > Security > Internet Plug-ins

Make sure that “Allow Plug-ins is enabled.

    2. Safari > Preferences > Extensions

Uncheck boxes beside all extensions and test.

Enable extensions one by one and test.

To uninstall an extension, select it and click the “Uninstall”  button.

Click to Plug-in or ClickToFlash extension can cause this kind of a problem.

Thanks a MILLION!!!!!!  This corrected my problem.  There was an 'adware block' in my extensions, would this leave me vulnerable to sites being able to have pop up ads spring up on me?

    THanks again!

    Hard to answer.

If you suspect the presence of adware, it can easily  be removed by using

    Malwarebytes anti-malware for Mac.
