Q: Help needed : I want to create a playlist of all music added via Apple Music

Hi,

In my Music-library I have music ripped from my CD collection, music bought via iTunes and music added as part of the subscription to Apple Music.

I want to create a playlist of all music which I added to my library using the Apple Music subscription so I can keep track of what I have added so far.

However, I don't know which criteria to use for making the selection. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

If you're looking to create a smart playlist, either one of these should work

    Smart Playlist Apple Music 2.png

    Smart Playlist Apple Music 1.png

The first one may be better, because iCloud Status field is limited to a small number of specific entries (no need to type "Apple Music").

    Hi Kenichi,,

Thanks for you reply, however , that didn't do the trick entirely. Some of my own music, ripped from CD, also has that status, which is kinda weird for me.

    Regards, Jan

Do you subscribe to the Apple Music streaming subscription service?

Your Apple Music subscription gives you an iCloud Music Library.  What probably happened is that you downloaded songs (the ones your ripped from CD) from your iCloud Music Library.  If they "match" songs available on Apple Music, you get back song files that are Apple Music downloads (like direct downloads from the service).

I heard there's a change how iCloud Music Library works for Apple MusicAs a test, select one of these songs (in your iTunes music library) that your originally ripped from CD and is now shown as an Apple Music download.  Right-click it and Remove Download.  You should get the cloud with down-arrow next to song, indicating you can download it from iCloud.  Try downloading it again.  Does it come still come back as an Apple Music download, or is it now shown as Matched?

This is Dutch, so : I have selected all file of which the location is not on my computer. That was the trick

    That's a rule I've never tried before.

In your case, a song from Apple Music that you downloaded will not show up on this list.  Also, any song that you own (not Apple Music), that you are currently accessing from your iCloud Music Library will appear on this list.
