Battery life varies depending on use and other factors.
In tests, for example, Apple achieved 18 hours of battery life with the following usage: 90 time checks, 90 notifications, 45 minutes of app use and a 30-minute workout with music playback from Apple Watch via Bluetooth.
More examples are available here: http://www.apple.com/watch/battery.html
Rather than turning your watch off each night or placing into Airplane Mode, you may find it more convenient to charge your watch nightly, overnight. The watch cannot be overcharged and the battery will not suffer any harm under normal operation from regular overnight charging. Charging will stop automatically when the battery is fully charged and will start again if and when required due to ongoing battery usage.
Follow Apple's safety and handling instructions and also note that:
- It is not possible to turn the watch off whilst it is on the charger and connected to power - this is normal.
- It is also normal for your watch, power adapter and charging cable to become warm when connected to power.

Oct 9, 2016 2:25 AM in response to pinocativoby Snowsorm417,★HelpfulDo you have apps running in the backround (E.g. Pillow)? That drains power quite fast.

Thanks,

Oct 9, 2016 2:57 AM in response to pinocativoby Jonathan UK,Whenever you use a session-based app (such as to record a workout or - via a third-party app - to track your sleep), be sure to end the session from within that app when it has finished. Session-based apps that are in use are typically shown automatically on your watch face when you raise your wrist, which helps you to remember that they are running.
Otherwise, it is not necessary to "kill" apps that are running in the background.
You may wish to review which apps you have chosen to add to the Dock. The Dock accommodates up to ten of your favourite apps and keeps their content updated automatically, for faster loading. To add / remove apps from the Dock, follow the instructions here:
