Upgrade to OS Sierra
My documents disappeared when I upgraded. Not even on the dock. But I did find them in the iCloud drive. How do I get them in the documents folder?

You can copy the files from the i-Cloud drive much like you copy any file from one location to another. There are several ways, the easiest is to simply drag them from the i-Cloud folder to your documents folder.
You enabled Desktop and Documents in iCloud Drive which moves both folders to the cloud.
You need to go to iCloud System Prefs and disable Desktop and Documents. It will warn you that your Home folder Desktop and Documents folders will be re-enabled, but empty.
You then copy the files from the iCloud Drive into your Home folder Desktop and Documents folders.
If you don't have enough room on iCloud Drive to store all of your documents, I think those folders will remain available in your Home folder showing the documents that weren't moved to iCloud.
I don't know what happens if you disable Desktop and Documents when you haven't transferred all files to the cloud.
Next time you upgrade, pay more attention to the Setup Assistant--it asked and you approved moving them to iCloud.
