Q: Inability to Sync My Iphone to Itunes

My IPhone 5C will not sync the APPS between the IPhone and ITunes and I Get a message saying "Waiting for Changes to be Applied" when I try, This seems to be the reason.

However, as far as I am concerned there are no "Changes to Be Applied".

The last valid sync of the APPS was in April 2016.

Can you suggest how I can get over this??

I also get an ITunes error 54 from time to time.

I am using IOS-10.0.7 on the iPhone, version 12.5.1.21 of ITunes and Windows 10 which I believe to be the latest releases.

I have uninstalled and re-installed the ITunes software and removed and then reinstalled the 4 Apps that I have added to my phone having tried, unsuccessfully, the sync whilst they were removed.

I do have a copy of  IExplorer software installed on my computer which can access files/folders on the IPhone. This may be useful if you suggest removing some of these from the phone.

    Hi B Tush,

Thanks for your question.  If I understand your question, the primary issue seems to by with syncing from the PC to the iPhone, since you state you were not able to sync with iTunes even when the apps were removed.   First, to address the error message you are receiving, take a look at the troubleshooting steps below:

If you see error -54 when you sync with iTunes

You don't really need to transfer your iPhone app purchases to your iTunes Library anymore, because if something happens to your app, you can delete it and redownload it from your iTunes Store account.

    Download your past purchases

However, if you want a copy of the apps in your iTunes Library, you can turn on Automatic Downloads on your PC:

Turn on Automatic Downloads for iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store purchases

    On your computer

In iTunes, you can turn on Automatic Downloads for iTunes Store purchases such as songs, albums, movies, TV shows, or apps for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

    1. Open iTunes.
    2. If you’re not signed in, sign in with your Apple ID.
    3. If you haven't authorized your computer, choose Store > Authorize This Computer.
    4. Windows: From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, choose Edit > Preferences. Learn what to do if you can’t see the menu bar.
    5. Click the Store tab, then select the content that you want to automatically download.

    6. Click OK.
Barry, please let us know if your issue persists after trying these steps and we'll investigate further with you.

    Take care.

The following steps should help with erratic syncing behaviour. They assume that all of the content you want on the device is in your library ready for restoring. If it isn't see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device first. I would also recommend you copy everything out of the camera roll if you haven't already.

    1. Backup device.
    2. Restore as a new device.
    3. Restore the backup you made earlier.

Use an encrypted backup if you want to preserve passwords, wi-fi settings, web history and health & homekit data where appropriate.
