Q: safari hangs on secure sites

Hello

A few days ago I started to notice that when I go to most (not all) secure sites (https://) safari hangs for few seconds while displaying a beach ball of doom, and then resumes operating to normal.

If I have multiple tabs open and switch between secure and unsecured tabs the same thing happens when I go from unsecure to secure, or from one secure to another secure tab.

I run Safari Version 10.0 (12602.1.50.0.10) on MacOS Sierra 10.12 (16A323)

Already disabled all plugins and cleared history.

My best guess there is something wrong with my keychain, but I am not sure what to do with that, as I have a lot of passwords stored and wouldn't want to loose them...

Hi,

"Already disabled all plugins and cleared history" ..

Try troubleshooting Safari extensions > Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

Hi Carolyn

When I said "Already disabled all plugins and cleared history" I meant extensions.
None of extensions are installed or used.

I suspect the issues somewhere in keychain/certificates.

Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library./Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db and move it to the trash.
