Q: Apple Watch only syncing 200 contacts?
I recently upgraded to an iPhone 7 and have the first generation apple watch. Recently, I started to notice that messages on my watch would no longer display the names but now the phone numbers. I have done all of the steps outlined in many of the forums:
- Restarted the watch, resync'd
- Disabled contacts from iCloud on the iPhone and renabled
- Restored my iPhone from factory settings, sign into iCloud, pair the watch
- Paired a completely different apple watch to my iPhone 7
- Restored to factory my friend's iPhone 6, signed into iCloud, paired the watch
- Restored from backup my watch to watch os 2.2.2...
In all cases, it appears that the sync to my watch always stops at 200 contacts (in reverse alphabetical order). I did not have this problem before with the iPhone 6s and this all started at some point after upgrading to iOS 10 and watch OS 3.0.
I'm in the middle of discussions with Apple Support, and from the process of elimination, it appears to be something with my iCloud account according to the support team. Sending this out to see if others have seen this and/or might be able to provide an explanation.
