Since updating to sierra my photos library must be repaired

I recently updated to Mac Sierra. Since the update, every time I open Photos I receive a message that my Photos Library has to be rebuilt. After several minutes, it says the library is rebuilt and I am allowed to proceed into the app. How can I fix this?
